Ugaris - The Legend Recovered
A free isometric MMORPG built in 2002 on the Astonia 3 engine — still running, still unforgiving, still free. No microtransactions. No hand-holding. Just a brutal old-school MMO kept alive by a community that refused to let it die.
About
Ugaris is not a modern MMO. And that's the point.
Built on the Astonia 3 engine — originally created by Daniel Brockhaus in 2001 — Ugaris is an isometric MMORPG from an era when online games didn't hold your hand. There's no quest compass. No daily login rewards. No pay-to-win shop. Just you, a dangerous world, and the knowledge that death actually hurts.
The game has been running continuously for over 20 years. A small but dedicated community kept logging in, and development never stopped. New content, new systems, same soul.
CHOOSE YOUR PATH
Warrior — Master of melee combat. Simple to learn, brutal to master. You'll live and die by your blade.
Mage — Arcane power at a terrible cost. Devastating spells, but one wrong step and you're done.
Seyan'Du — The legendary hybrid class. Master both sword and sorcery. Not recommended for new players, locked behind the labyrinth quests.
OLD-SCHOOL BY DESIGN
isometric 2D world inspired by Ultima Online and Diablo II
Hardcore death penalties — your choices matter and mistakes cost you
No quest markers or compass — explore, discover, and learn the hard way
A skill system where your build defines your identity
PvP that means something — forge alliances or make enemies
A community of players who've been here for over two decades
FREE TO PLAY. NO CATCH.
No microtransactions. No loot boxes. No battle pass. No "premium" currency. Ugaris has run on passion and community support since day one. That hasn't changed and never will.
If you miss the golden age of MMOs — when the world felt dangerous and earning your place actually meant something — welcome home.
