Feudums

YOUR NOBLE HOUSE MUST PREVAIL

Every vassal, rival and liege is a real player - and diplomacy isn't binding. Allegiances shift constantly in the living medieval world. Power is fragile.

Forge your legacy across campaigns as different figureheads of your dynasty, shaped by unlocked traits, agendas and legacy options that influence how your next chapter begins.

Nothing in your domain is ever secure. The world moves in its own rhythm: seasonal and political storms, economic strain, wars, betrayals, feudal obligations and shifting opportunities constantly reshape your position.

Wounds fade. Scars endure. But the houses persist - and they remember.

Feudums is a blend of grand strategy, turn-based 4X and social strategy, built around emergent player-driven stories, not scripted outcomes.

• Every campaign runs on a shared tick-based simulation where all player actions resolve in synchronized intervals.

• Designed for asynchronous multiplayer, strategic decisions can be planned and executed over time, with optional semi-autonomous behaviour through high-level instructions when players are absent.

• The world continues to evolve whether players are present or not.

• Outcomes persist across campaigns as part of a continuous house legacy, shaped by long-term consequences.

Inspired by the systemic design of cult classics like Lords of the Realm, Genesia, Knights of Honor or Crusader Kings, and the social depth of early CRPG MUSHes and classic board games, Feudums is presented through entirely hand-crafted visuals and an evocative soundtrack.

Fully customizable, moddable, and built alongside the community.

FAIR & ASYNCHRONOUS STRATEGY

• Feudums is built on fair competition, where purchases never provide gameplay advantages.

• Monetization is limited to cosmetics and non-intrusive additions.

• There are no energy systems, artificial timers, or forced slowdowns.

• The game remains competitive even with limited playtime, rewarding planning and coordination over raw time investment.

• Multiple worlds run in parallel with sustainable player populations, ensuring consistent gameplay without requiring massive player counts.

• An ongoing open alpha allows players to participate in the early feedback loop, experience and verify these systems directly.

YOU ARE A RULER

Rule your domain through high-level strategic commands and long-term planning.

• Issue directives for your fiefs, shaping production, local rules, construction, and defence that execute over time. Define priorities, seasonal or conditional plans that continue running even while you are absent.

• Delegate authority to vassals and stewards, relying on incentives, reputation, and obedience rather than micromanagement.

• Shape diplomacy by navigating feudal obligations between lieges and vassals, forging or breaking alliances, and engaging in intrigue through deception, negotiation, and information warfare.

• Accumulate administrative reserves while offline, then spend them to accelerate key directives in focused bursts, ensuring outcomes depend on strategy rather than continuous presence.

• When war erupts, prepare joint campaigns with allies and vassals, focusing on logistics, positioning, unit composition, battle behaviour, reinforcements, and strategic advantage.

• Forge a noble house shaped by consequences, shifting power structures, and long-term strategic outcomes.

CAST INFLUENCE

Power in Feudums is not secured by systems, but by other people.

• Manage a hierarchy of lieges, vassals, and peers, where authority depends on reputation, leverage, and mutual dependence rather than fixed rules.

• Swear fealty, demand obligations, or challenge your liege as political structures constantly shift through player action.

• Form alliances, coordinate shared goals, or turn against common rivals - internal or external - when interests align.

• Project authority and identity through your court, titles, and visible symbols of power, shaping how others perceive your position in the feudal order.

• Control information to your advantage: conceal intent, mislead rivals, or reinforce authority through selective communication and narrative framing.

• Ignore or break agreements when advantage demands it - risking your reputation, retaliation, and long-term consequences.

• Shape the balance of power through negotiation, intimidation, misinformation, and precisely timed diplomacy to gain influence over others.

WIN WARS BEFORE THEY START

War is shaped by preparation, timing, terrain, coordination, and the ability to read evolving situations, rewarding careful planning over numbers, stacking or clicking speed.

• Follow nature's lead. Harsh winters make long marches deadly, while changing weather creates opportunities for defenders and opportunistic invaders alike. Time raids and invasions around the economic rhythms of the world for maximum effect.

• Explore your options. Mountain or marshland crossings and sea travel carry significant risk, but can open hidden routes to your objectives. Use natural borders and terrain to your advantage.

• Coordinate military efforts with allies and vassals through shared objectives, campaign plans, reinforcements, and logistical support.

• Raise armies through feudal obligations, or maintain a professional standing force at the cost of resources and political capital that could otherwise support diplomacy or land claims.

• Sieges and territorial conquest unfold over extended periods, designed for asynchronous play. Garrisons and commanders continue operating in your absence on standing instructions, while allies and vassals can intervene, making sudden overnight collapse unlikely - unless the foundations of your realm have already been neglected.

BUILD POWER BEFORE IT IS NEEDED

Economic and territorial control in Feudums operates across highly customizable strategic layers.

• At the local scale, manage tiles with structures such as farms, settlements, abbeys, castles, quarries or mines, each with configurable focus that shapes production and utility.

• At the regional level, define workforce priorities, regional rules and development policies across multi-tile fiefs, adapting governance to regional needs.

• At the domain level, command your territories, shaping expansion, inter-domain relations, and external trade.

• Assign workers through seasonal and conditional priorities, refining automation through either detailed tweaks or high-level directives as circumstances change.

• Specialize terrain and improvements through flexible but mutually exclusive choices, adjusting them as priorities shift. Unlock wider regional specializations such as mining towns or maritime trade hubs.

• Trade and tribute flow between players through feudal obligations, agreements and recurring arrangements, alongside a global market driven by player supply and demand.

• A deep systemic model with approachable controls - focus on resource flows, priorities, and execution, not micromanagement.

CARRY YOUR HOUSE FORWARD

Legacy is the distilled identity of your house, shaped by notable actions across your campaigns.

• Play each campaign through a chosen persona, customized from an expanding pool of unlocked traits, options and modifiers, enabling new strategic combinations.

• Earn deeds or suffer stains during a campaign, further shaping your current persona as you play, with significant outcomes feeding back into your house identity.

• Express your legacy through a rich heraldic system based on historical European heraldry, where each heraldic device reflects the lived history of your lineage.

• Build long-term progression through variety, identity, and historical continuity, not raw statistical power or linear advantages.

• Review the history of your house at any time through a persistent chronicle of personas, achievements, failures, and notable events, forming a living “hall of fame” across all campaigns.

FULL MODDING SUPPORT

• Define rulebooks that modify core systems such as economy, diplomacy, warfare, or progression, or disable entire subsystems, enabling fundamentally different campaign structures on the same engine.

• Configure world templates with custom geography, starting conditions, and seasonal setups, and adjust pacing from slow, PBEM-like campaigns to faster tick cycles with more granular resolution.

• Design worlds using an integrated map editor for creating and editing terrain, regions, and starting areas, implement custom seed-based map generation, or combine both approaches.

• Create advanced mods with custom logic, new entities, and scenario-driven rulesets that extend beyond configuration into behavioural design.

• Build total conversion setups with fully redefined settings, systems, and content, enabling entirely new thematic interpretations of the same underlying simulation.

• Share or exchange mods and rule variants through an integrated authoring and distribution system.

COMMUNITY CONTRACT

Feudums is built around transparent and fair concepts, where outcomes are driven by player decisions.

• The game is developed in an open alpha structure with transparent direction and community-influenced priorities. System evolution is shaped through feedback rather than opaque design shifts.

• Gameplay follows a fair asynchronous model: competitive outcomes are driven by planning and coordination rather than continuous presence.

• There are no pay-to-win mechanics, and no gameplay advantages are available through monetization.

• The game supports multiple scales of play, from larger ranked worlds to smaller, private multiplayer campaigns.

• Long-term continuity is supported through a structured sunset policy. Should official support eventually end, players who have supported the game will retain access to defined continuity options.
