A PS2-style indie game about government studies on humans. they were subjects of experimentation to gather "crucial" data for military and medical purposes. you got assigned to work with the other scientists.
This game and everything in it, is entirely handcrafted by a single human artist from scratch, no AI has ever seen nor touched it.
This is a story-based game that takes the exponential progression route, where things start slow, and the story develop faster and faster as you go on.
It's realistic, not supernatural, there are no ghosts or monsters, only humans, the scariest of them all.
The mission of this project is creating superior soldiers and find ways to exploit the weaknesses and limitations of the human body to win the war, hence the name "Project: Ascend"
you play the role of a new recruit "Jack" in a top-secret government project, slowly but surly you start to gain the trust of one of the superiors who starts giving you more and more "important" tasks.
It also contains tons of implied story elements throughout the game
Although the game is based on real events, the story, people, governments and all entities are purely fictional.
