Auto-Battler RPG Fest
Games where the battles play themselves out – but you have to upgrade your units to win. More info.
Auto-Battler RPG Fest is scheduled for 16.11.2026 — 23.11.2026.
This Fest is for games where asking the player to do all of the combat is too much, so you let the player sit back and watch the fights happen -- automatically! And, as the RPG in the name implies, your characters improve via EXP/levels, equipment or other kinds of growth/buffs. This event runs 16 November @ 10:00am PDT to 23 November @ 10:00am PDT and will include eligible titles with sections for discounted titles, unreleased titles in Coming Soon mode, games with demos, and more. For general information about Steam themed sale events, including details on the selection and invitation process, ways to participate (discounts, demos, and upcoming releases), event visibility and promotion, in-event game visibility, and marketing materials permissions, please visit the Steam Themed Sale Events parent documentation page.Table of ContentsImportant Dates Eligibility Registration Asset Kit Frequently Asked Questions Need Help? Important Dates12 November - The trailer announcing the event launches on this day. At this point, you're welcome to share your participation in the event. Assets for this purpose will be available in the Asset Kit below. 16 November @ 10:00am PDT - The event starts. This is the deadline for entering a discount, and opting out if you no longer want to participate. EligibilityEligible games' primary gameplay loop will involve automatic combat with your characters or your units. For this Fest, we're defining Auto Battlers as any game where combat occurs automatically, with your character or your units following a pre-defined sequence or un-modifiable AI to fight other enemies. Your freedom as a player comes from how you build your units, how you arrange their inventory, which units you acquire, and other actions like that. Once a fight starts, the player can generally remove their hands from the keyboard, and the fight will finish on its own. These games are generally turn-based or phase-based. Your character/units must be able to die or take damage, so Tower Defense titles will generally not be allowed. Eligible games feature gameplay where units are generally on an even playing ground, so horde games (1 vs. many) are likely to not be eligible. RTS games are generally not eligible, as you have to 'trigger' battles and you can typically run-away mid-way through. City builders are also generally not eligible. Deckbuilders can be eligible but again: combat must be automatic, so the deck must 'play itself'. And of course - Auto-Chess titles are eligible! Check your list of eligible games here: below to register your interest in participating in this event. To participate with a discount, you will also need to enter a discount for your game before 16 November @ 10:00am PDT. KitWe’ve created an asset kit of images and templates for you to use on your own social media channels when telling your fans about your participation in this event. These assets are designed to work well on various platforms and you're welcome to use them to let players know you'll be participating. Our official event trailer will typically launch around 4 days prior to the event; we recommend the same timing for utilizing these assets to promote your participation on your own channels. (please reference Important Dates above). Download here: Asset Kit coming soonFrequently Asked QuestionsQ.
